A WALK IN THE PARK COLLECTION

the
Inspiration

This new collection of paintings represents a profound shift in my life – becoming a father and moving from the inner city of Melbourne to the leafy north-eastern suburbs. As my young son began to grow and develop, I found myself spending more time in parks and nature, spending weekends seeking out the next playground where he could play and explore. As we spent time among the trees, I was reminded of my own childhood in a small rural country town, where nature and spending time outdoors was an integral part of life.

Each tree I painted is a meditation on these themes and mirror the way my priorities have shifted, both as a father and as a person. The process of capturing the individuality of each tree allowed me to reflect on my own journey and the cycles of life. This body of work is not just about the trees themselves but about what they represent: stability, growth, and the quiet strength that comes from rooting oneself in a place of love and connection.
